The Paul and Deana Day Family Reunion

It is kinda crazy that there are so many of us now. It is so much fun when we all get together. I love my family! This year we had the project of building a deck for our family reunion. I say "we" quite liberally because I actually didn't help at all with it. The men folk did all the hard stuff, I just played with the kids and ate food. :) There was tons of kids to play with and tons of food to eat, so I was happy and busy. The guys did a marvelous job on the deck...bless them.

Jana and her kids and Stace and her kids were with us longer than the others, so I have a few more pictures of them. I took over 450 pictures in about a week. It was hard to pick and choose which ones to post, I couldn't post all of them. :)

So, what did we do? We did all kinds of stuff. We went on a Sunday evening constitutional the weekend before the reunion which was fun. Stace, Jana, and Michelle and their kids were there with the parentals and me, so we had quite a group. I got a couple of fun pictures on our walk...

Grandpa and Carter livin' it up!

Kayla and Em...oh they're adorable!

We did puzzles, Kayla and Linds played dress up, and we went to Jensen's Grove and Ross Park to swim all before the reunion actually started. We stayed busy to say the least. :) Here are some of the pictures to prove it.

Lindsay, Kayla, and Kaylee

Linds being her goofy little self. (She loves getting her picture taken, so I have lots.)

Jana and her girls playing dress up...maybe Jana should cut her hair and get a perm...
the look suits her. :)

Kaylee and Lindsay played so cute together most of the time.
They both had their moments, but most of the time they were the best of friends.

On to the actual festivities! Friday morning was the unofficial start of our family reunion. The kids painted 4th of July fireworks tee-shirts while the guys got going hard on the deck. There was water fighting and trampoline jumping and playing in the dirt just to mention a few of the other activities.

Cade was quite the perfectionist when it came to blowing fireworks onto his tee.

Josh had his goggles just in case things got really messy.

Kaylee and Jackson were easily entertained by sitting in the dirt around the deck. :)

The hard working menfolk. (part of them anyway)

What little posers. :)

Emily and me

Me and Brianna

My beautiful sister Jana being her usual goofy self.

Friday was also Luke's 10th birthday, so Annie made him an amazing cupcake-cake and we celebrated with all of us. It was fun to get to see all the kids so excited watching him blow out the candles and open his presents.

The cupcakes were a little messy. :)

The kids made magic wands with some help from us girls. I actually made one too it was fun. Josh, Luke, and Cade went around casting spells from the Harry Potter books at everyone. There was a lot of leg locking curses flying around...it was pretty dangerous. :)

We went to Jake's and Michelle's to watch fireworks. Their backyard has quite a nice view of the Blackfoot firework show at Jensen's Grove, so it was nice. We all went home full of treats and really sleepy.

Saturday was also a full day. The guys finished the main part of the deck. It looks way good. I'm really happy we finally have a deck. The kids did a little treasure hunt and each of them got a bubble light saber and a water gun. They blew lots of bubbles and then got in their swimsuits to play with their water guns.

We kinda wore everyone out with all of our fun, but I'm pretty sure we are all going to recover just fine. At least everyone was awake for Day Family American Idol. Jana made an awesome Paula, Chris was a good enough sport to be Simon, and we had a guest judge, Shaun Barrowes (Luke being his uncle). Pretty much everyone participated. We even had Shakira come and preform "Hips Don't Lie." Stace did a great job being Shakira. :) Michelle and I sang "It's in His Kiss." I'm pretty sure my hair has never been that poofy, but you can't really tell in the picture.

Time goes so fast when you are having fun and chasing around eleven children. All too soon everyone was packing up and getting ready to leave. The house is clean and quiet now, but I miss everyone. I love my family! They are so super cool!

Until next time...
