I ♥ Pinterest
Can I just tell you that Pinterest has saved my life this semester? With Harrison busy with school and work and his internship, he's not around a lot, so I have to keep myself busy or I get really lonely. So, while Dylan plays or sleeps, I am crafting away. And I have been loving it. I love the creative, inexpensive ideas that I find to keep my life interesting...or should I say Pinteresting. :)
Here are a couple of things I have done recently.
For Valentine's Day I made Harrison a gift that I thought ended up pretty cool. I found the idea on Pinterest and then made it my own. Here are a couple of pictures of the finished project.
I also made this magnet board for my cousin Holly who is getting married in April. My dad was nice enough to drill some holes in it for me so she can hang it from the ribbon. Don't tell Holly, but I only spent like $2.50 on the hole thing. I had the scrapbook paper and double sided tape already as well as the magnets, so all I bought was the buttons to make the magnets and the cookie sheet. I thought it ended up really cute and yellow and pink are her favorite colors, so she loved it too! Here's a little how to if you want to make your own.
-Buy a cookie sheet--it can be any size, but smaller is easier to make the paper look good.
-You can spray paint the pan, but I liked the shine, so I left mine.
-I use a corner punch to do the corners and I put a strip of paper over my "seam" (the line between the two pieces of scrapbook paper) to make it look better.
-I have tried mod podge, but it didn't stay stuck, so I now use double sided tape to stick the paper to the tray.
-Walmart has some super cute buttons and I just add magnet dots to the back and wha-la, super cute magnets.
-You really can add whatever embellishments you want or leave it pretty plain.
-Anyway, they are way easy and pretty cheap and a fun gift.
So, in other news, I have been trying to keep up to Dylan who is starting to roll himself around the living room. He really likes to get into whatever he can and the newspapers and magazines under my coffee table have seen the worst of it. He gets really made when I take things away from him now. But, the kid is adorable and he doesn't stay mad at me for very long. Here is proof of his cuteness.
