More Crafts

So I realized today that I never shared the quilt I made for Dylan on my blog. I am very proud of it, so I took a picture today. Here it is. I wish I could say I did it all by myself, but it would be a lie. My mom helped out quite a bit. I did most of the sewing, but I am pretty sure she did everything else. She even quilted it for me. I found a quilt online that had a similar design, but we couldn't find any pattern or anything, so Mom just figured it out with her amazing skills. It was a lot of fun to make it together. I love the way it turned out.
Another craft I did more recently was this subway art for Dylan's room. I found one I liked on Pinterest and followed their design, but made it my own. I LOVE dafont.com. It is so much fun to find awesome fonts and then download them for free! Here is Dylan's dresser. For those of you who don't know, the discolored dog in the middle is Patch. I got him when I was eight or nine and slept with him until I got married. He is very loved. I am happy that I can put him in a place where I still see him every day.
My most recent project is family blocks. Dad cut the wood for me and then Mom and I sanded and painted and sanded some more. I am really pleased with how they turned out. I am excited to find a place to put them in our new home...wherever that may be. On the other side I am going to put RECHT♥. I am using the same scrapbook paper pretty much, but I have a couple of different papers I am going to add as well. I will post a pic when I am finished.
As for other things going on in my life...Dylan is now 24.5 pounds. He will be 8 months old in a week. That means he has only gained 4.5 pounds in the last four months. Poor kid is wasting away. He isn't quite crawling, but he does this reach, roll, reach, stretch, roll thing to get where he wants to go. He is pretty good at it too. He got his first tooth about a week and a half ago and another one is probably going to break through in the next couple of days. He is still a smiley, happy baby though and I love to hear his laughs and giggles. He is a nut just like his dad. And his mom.
Harrison graduates in 18 days! He has a couple more interviews this week, so we are hoping we have a job offer before he graduates. We are looking forward to being done with school and homework. I am looking forward to seeing my husband a little more in the evenings and on weekends. It will be hard to leave all of our friends, but we are excited for this new adventure.

So that is our life right now. I am probably going to have to stop crafting for awhile so I can pack and clean my apartment instead.

Until next time...

Good job on your Subway Art! I've tried it a few times and it never turns out quite like I'd like. Yours is cute! And I love the quilt! Thank goodness for good moms, huh? And post when you know where you are going because I want to know! Love ya!
