My College Experience Thus Far
So, I have already burnt biscuits to a charcoal crisp and set the fire alarm off, and I have only been in college for a month and a half. We still ate the biscuits though-we pulled them apart and the middles were still quite delicious. Yeah, that is me with one of my yummy biscuits in my mouth and a tray of the burnt offering I made for our dinner. I arrived to this blessed place on September 8th. I have five crazy roommates who I enjoy immensely. I am so glad I got good roommates. All but one of them are sophomores, so they know the ropes and can help me with my freshman issues. My room roommate, Becca, from Coeur d'Alene, has become one of my closest friends. We are so similar it's kinda weird sometimes. She worked at a snow shack for two summers in a row, she listened to Power Tunes and the Land of Obey tapes growing up, we are both really weird and quirky, etc. Anyhow, we get along great. My other roommates, Katie and Morgan (sisters from Alaska), Stefanie (from Boise), and Marcie (from Washington), are all a lot of fun. It is funny how living with someone for a couple of months can make you feel like you have known them forever. We have had many crazy experiences together, but I think I still take them by surprise occasionally. I'm not sure if they quite understand my sense of humor yet.
Here we are getting ready for church. Aren't we beautiful!?!
School is going fairly well too. I stay pretty busy with my sixteen credits and all the other activities going on. Man, BYU-I has soooo much to offer. There is always awesome stuff going on and it is hard to have to pick and choose things to go to. Just last night Becca and I went to a William Joseph concert. He plays the piano and has opened for bands like Il Divo and Josh Groban. He is an amazing pianist and it was a way fun concert.
Hmmmm...what else about my college experience? There are quite a few good looking boys here...actually more than a few, but I have my eyes set on a certain one. He is an artist and is really good looking. He lives in the building right next to mine and we met each other walking home from class last week. I have only seen him twice, but I'm hoping I'll be able to see him more. He was really nice. There are of course other boys, but none of them really talk to me all that much. It is still fun to look at them though. :)
My ward is tons of fun. I have enjoyed it for the most part. I got called as one of the gospel doctrine teachers my second week of school and have thus far taught three times. I think I am getting better at it. When I was first called I went home after church, called my mom, and cried. But, I am doing better now, and it doesn't scare me quite as much anymore. My FHE group is fun- even though there are only six guys and twelve girls. We still have a good time.
