Back for More...

It's been a while since I have blogged, so I decided I had better get with it. Life has been pretty busy, but very enjoyable. I am liking school (for the most part). To be completely honest though, I really do not enjoy my philosophy class very much. I don't know, learning about determinism and empiricism etc. is not really my thing. Some of it is interesting, but there is soooo much reading and writing involved, I just get kinda sick of it. Other than that I am enjoying my classes and doing well. A few updates from the last few months- in no particular order:

-Thus far I have survived my first crazy Rexburg winter
-I finally went on a date
-I am still single--go figure
-I got my first C on a college test, but it ended up being a B -so I'm good. :)
-I milked a cow
-I wrote another song on my guitar
-I have gone skiing three times this season thus far and I am very happy about it
-I am getting over my cold finally- I think
-I am still fairly obsessed with Lost, but it confuses me immensely
-I went to the Vienna Boy's Choir-which was cool, but too long

Okay, that is all the basic things I can think of right now, so here are some stories...

The weather here in Rexburg is pretty crazy and cold. It has snowed quite a bit, but I think it may be finally starting to slow down a bit. On January 22nd, I experienced some of the bitterest weather I have experienced in my entire life. I had to walk clear across campus in -34 degree weather. This is what I looked like before I left for class:

I stayed pretty warm, but when I got up to the Hinckley building, my eyebrows and eyelashes had frost on them. Brrrrrrr... As soon as I got into the building, I could feel the frost melting and my mascara running down my face. I hurried to the bathroom and practically had to wash my face to get all the black off of it- not too much fun. Needless to say, I have not worn my headsock to class since. : )

My date: Brad Close, Danny's roommate/mission buddy, asked me on a date on Feb. 9th. We went to Bajio for lunch and then bowling. I have my own bowling shoes, but I wasn't sure if that would be weird to take them on the date, but I decided to anyway. When Brad came to pick me up, I told him to not make fun of me, but I had my own bowling shoes. He was pretty surprised, and then he told me that he had his own too. : ) It was pretty sweet. So, we went bowling with Keshia and Russell (Danny's other roommate) and had lots of fun. It was my first date since I have been up at school, so I was pretty excited. Brad is a really cool guy and I had a lot of fun with him.

Valentine's Day, also known as Singles' Awareness Day, was actually pretty fun this year. Becca and I made heart shaped sugar cookies and decorated them with conversation hearts. My friend Jordan-who I know through Keshia's roommate Laurel- came over and helped us decorate for a while. After he left, I took a plate over to Danny and his roommates (Brad and Russell) and talked to them for a while, so that was fun. Here are a couple of pictures of our little decorating experience:

Last weekend I took Becca home with me to experience country life at its finest. We went to Uncle Merlin's and milked a cow and talked to the baby calves. Ahhh how cute. While we were over by the calves, Becca got attacked by a rooster. It totally flew at her back and I had to shoe it off with my foot before it would leave us alone. What an experience! We got our picture taken with the giant potato and the Martha statue. Ahhh the wonders... We also spent time with my guy friends and listened in on a jamming session. It was fun to be home for a three day weekend. Dad took us skiing up to Targhee on Monday so that was fun too. I sure do love skiing, but I really want to try snowboarding again too. Some pictures from last weekend:

I got to go skiing again yesterday, so that was fun too. I best be off, until next time...

You're so cute Carly! Congrats on your first college date:) Looks like you're having lots of fun. I don't envy you in the negative 35 degrees though. I thought I was going to die walking to school when I went to Ricks!
