"There is a way that nature speaks, that land speaks. Most of the time we are simply not patient enough, quiet enough, to pay attention to the story." -Linda Hogan

Last weekend the Day family had a reunion in Island Park. We went up Thursday night to hang with the family. I golfed on the Wii with a few of my cousins...ugh I'm not very good. :) It was fun though. Friday morning we headed out to Yellowstone. Mom, Dad, Luke (my ten-year-old nephew who stayed with us for the week before the reunion), and me were in our car, and Michelle and her kids, and Stace and Chris and their kids were in Michelle's van. We went to all the usual places: Old Faithful, the mud pots, Yellowstone Lake, Yellowstone Falls, etc. Yellowstone is such a beautiful area!

It just amazes me how marvelous nature can be. We are surrounded by beauty, but sometimes we just don't take the time to notice. Simple things like watching the sunset across the grain field behind my house, rain storms, or freshly bloomed flowers make me realize (when I take the time to notice) how truly beautiful this earth is. I guess what I'm trying to say is that everyone needs to take some time to "stop and smell the roses." :)
Okay, on to the rest of the story. So, Yellowstone was absolutely amazing and I took quite a few pictures, so I'll share. :) It started pouring when we were about to leave the falls. Luckily, that was our last stop, so we just went back to Island Park.

Friday night I hung out with Randy and Ryan (my single cousins). There are only four of us left on the Day side, but Ren couldn't make it, so it was just us three amigos. We talked around the fire for a long time and then went back to the cabin to play guitar hero. Pretty much this reunion was my favorite of all day reunions.
We floated Big Springs on Saturday with the whole family. It took like three hours, but it was a lot of fun. Chris (the bum) :) pulled me into the freezing cold water...at least he was nice enough to not dunk me. Once I got in it wasn't so bad though.
I had
Breaking Dawn with me, so I read that on and off through the reunion. I finished it on Saturday night on our way home by the light of my cellphone. :) Pathetic, I know. It was a pretty good book though.
Well, I've got to get ready to go to Utah tomorrow (me and Mom are going to Blanding for a week and a half to stay with Grandma and Grandpa), so I better end my little blog.
Until next time...

It sure was good to see you again! Thanks for letting me hang out with the "singles club" for a bit! :) I wish we could've made it up a day earlier so we could have played some more... Have fun in Blanding
