Back to School, Back to School...

I'm back in Rexburg and loving it...so far. :) The weather has been absolutely beautiful and my roommates are a ton of fun. My classes are good too which is nice. I made it through my first week quite nicely. I am moved in and getting used to my new schedule. I even found a ride to my 7:45 class clear across campus. :) So, I am a happy little Sophomore.

Me and Becca made a zucchini cake to celebrate having known each other for a year on Wednesday evening. It was super yummy and I ate a lot of it. :) I am so glad to be back so I can hang out with my best friends once again. Keshia spent most of the summer in Ecuador and the rest of it in a tractor, so I really didn't get to even see her very much. So we are living it up being back together again. :)

I went on my first date of the semester on Friday. I went with Derik Christensen (we went to the same singles' branch at home). We went out to Cold Stone for ice cream and then to Ryan Shupe and the Rubber Band (they came to campus). The concert was great; they put on a way good show, but they had fog machines going, and I have a cold, and the fog really irritated my lungs, so I was coughing through the entire thing. Derik felt bad and kept asking if I was okay or if I needed a drink...he is a gentleman through and through. I made it through the concert alive though and I really enjoyed it, except for the coughing part. After the concert we went and bowled a game at the Rex. While I was bowling, I had an epiphany. It was just one of those "Why didn't I think of this before," moments. I used to not be so bad at bowling, but for the past few years I just haven't been that great. For example, last time I went bowling --which happened to be with like six guys-- I bowled a 58. And I was trying too. Sad, pathetic...anyway, while bowling on my date on Friday night I decided to just log away all the advice ever given to me about how to bowl and just do it my way. I am officially through looking at the arrows. They just throw me off and confuse me. I have reverted back to looking at the pins and just going for it. It actually worked out quite well for me. I am quite pleased with my new found knowledge and I am excited to go try it out again.

I really had a lot of fun on the date. Derik is really nice. We can talk to each other easily. I see him on campus quite a bit, so I'm glad that we are getting to know each other better.

My roommates are really cool this semester and I am really excited about our apartment. I am living with my two best friends, Keshia and Becca, so that is fun. My other three roommates are, Jenni (from Boise) a freshman who is my roommate from last year Stefanie's little sister, Michelle (from California) a sophomore, and Laura (from Pocatello) also a freshman. They are all super cool girls and we all get along great.

Here are a couple of pictures of me and my crazy roommates:

My classes are pretty good. I am taking Developmental Psychology, Human Nutrition, Parenting, Social Dance, Family Foundations, and Math 108. I have a good schedule, and I get done by 1:00 every day which is nice. Psychology, parenting, and family foundations all correlate really well together. It is cool to be able to learn different things in each class, but it all goes together, so I can use the knowledge I gain in one to help me better understand another. Sweet! :) I really hope I can keep my happy attitude, but once the weather starts getting cold I know it'll be harder. :) Life is good though, and I am so incredibly blessed to be here at BYU-I.

Until next time...

I saw on something we got that Ryan Shupe was going to be at Ricks, I mean, BYU-I, and I thought how fun that would be to go. We should have moved to Rexburg this year so we could have you hang out at our house! =) Except I can't stand the thought of living with those winters for the rest of my life. Have fun being back there!
