La Diva

I'm so excited...my first pinewood derby ever! The singles' branch (combined with the other stake) had a pinewood derby tonight. Ever since I was little I have always wanted to race in a pinewood derby. I have finally fulfilled one of my lifelong goals! My car...made by my wonderful father and painted by me...took third(ish) place in the freestyle competition. I really took fourth, because it was single elimination, but I really beat the car (my friend Ashley's) that took third, so I claim third place. I was only defeated by the two cars with propellers. It was a lot of fun.

Dad actually made the car for an Elder's quorum race. I painted it for him then (it was on St. Patty's day), and he was nice enough to let me take it completely over and repaint it all girly. I got quite a few comments on the beautiful paint job. Here are the pictures of the process...

I named the car La Diva...for obvious reasons. I was practically giddy as I painted it. She is lovely, isn't she? Anyway, it was a fun filled evening, but but now I am really sleepy and I have to work tomorrow, so I need to go to bed. Until next time...
