First comes love, then comes...

Marriage!

I'M GETTING MARRIED!!!

No, for real! I'm serious!

Harrison and I are getting married August 20, 2010 in the Rexburg temple. I can't wait. Here's a bit of our story for those of you who want to know...

My friend Renee was dating Harrison's roommate Joe, and they set us up on a blind date. It was the second weekend of the semester (January 16 to be exact...). I have seen him every weekend since and as many days in between as we can fit in. It was easier when we were just a few minutes walk from each others' apartments. Now we are both off track and living at home, so we are just trying to see each other as much as we can.

I went to visit him three weeks ago at his home...well, his parents' home...in Montana. We had hinted at our future together, but that was the first time we really talked about marriage. So as far as dates go, we got engaged-ish May 1st. We decided to only tell immediate family until we made things more official. The "official" engagement date is May 6th...that's when he talked to my dad...and when we started telling family and friends. Found the ring on May 7th... He proposed on May 14th and gave me my beautiful ring. (I know...we were engaged for two weeks before he proposed...but we like to keep things interesting)

The proposal: He got into town on Friday evening (the 14th) and we went to Airport Park in Blackfoot for a little picnic--just the two of us. We finished eating and were just sitting and talking. He pulled out a jar with peanut m&ms in it. He handed it to me and said that there was one for every day until our wedding. (So I get to eat one a day until the big day...my sister Michelle said he must be trying to teach me self-control...only one m&m a day...) Then he said, "We've talked about it with every one else, but...Carlie, will you marry me?" :) I said no. HA! Just joking. I said, "Yes! Of course!" The ring didn't get in to the jewelers until later that night, so we went down to Pocatello together to pick it up. We may have gone about things a little out of the regular order, but I am totally fine with it. I love him! :) I am the happiest I have ever been. I am so blessed to have found such a wonderful, caring, incredibly handsome man who treats me like I am a princess.

At Airport Park after he proposed...

So there you have it folks. I'm getting married. (and for those of you who think I am too young, I will remind you that I am 21 and will have broken my sisters' records by over a year when I get married) :)

Until next time...
